Sunday Eucharist Services will now commence at 9.30 am instead of 9.00 am as of Sunday, 8 December 2019. Ngā mihi, Hiona Saint Stephens Church Vestry Hiona St Stephen’s Anglican church will have the Eucharist service in Te Reo/Maori language on the third Sunday of every month, the next one on Sunday 18th August at 9.00am. (Readings, Sermon & Intercessions in English). Service is in Te Reo/Maori and English in our prayer book, so it is easy to follow. Come along and share our bilingual service. We'll be at the Ōpotiki Surf club on Saturday, 1 Nov 2014 from 9am-10am with plastic bags, and gloves to spend one hour talking a leisurely stroll along the beach and picking up litter. We'd love to see you there and spend time with you helping to clean up Papatūānuku, our Mother Earth. Here is the order of the morning programme: 1 9.30am Church service as usual at Hiona St. Stephens 2 followed at 10.30am by a Powhiri to welcome the T.V. filming crew 3 which will be followed by the singing of two himene in church by the congregation (we need your voices please plus body, mind and Spirit) 4 and a cuppa to follow in the hall. (born 7 March 1923), a Trappist monk (Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance) and priest, known as one of architects of the Centering Prayer, a contemporary method of contemplative prayer, that emerged from St. Joseph's Abbey, Spencer, Massachusetts, in 1975. He was born in New York City, and attendedDeerfield Academy, Yale University, and Fordham University, graduating in December 1943.
